Hello everyone, we're all looking for pain relief and there's such a lot of choice for us.
Has anyone else been given patches for PR. and how have you got on with them ?
I've been on two different types, first one was BuTrans and changed once a week.
Now i'm on Durogesic DTrans and they last three days. This one seems to suit me at the moment.
So far no side effects and they seem to kick in very quickly!
My RA pain is in my feet knees and hip (to be replaced in the new year) also it's in my hands wrists and elbows.
GP put me on these so must ask rheumy doc about them. Kathleen xx

Hi Rose, thanks for your reply. I must be the only one thats had pain relief patches.
Like you I'd be interested to know if anyone else has thought about asking Rheumy doc or GP about them.
I'll say this, my pain has been easier recently on them. Take care, Kathleen

I think quite a few of us are on these or have used them in the past. Yes - they are effective and morphine based, but I found that after prolonged use they made me sick and I now cannot take morphine without the sickness. I am sure they don't affect everyone this way, but it is worth asking. GP's tend to be a little reluctant to prescribe long term as morphine is an addictive drug.
